CENTRIA was honored this year as a Sustaining Member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) at the organization's DC Post 21st Annual Awards Luncheon, held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. A longtime benefactor of SAME, CENTRIA is committed to supporting business development efforts in government contracting, with collaborations spanning domestic Veteran Affairs (VA) Hospitals and military facilities to CENTRIA International US Embassy projects in Jamaica, Suriname, Mbabane and dozens of other foreign locations.
Founded just after WWI when more than 11,000 civilian engineers were called to duty, SAME is dedicated to providing solutions to national security infrastructure-related challenges―uniting both public and private sector individuals and organizations from multiple disciplines, including architecture, engineering, construction, facility management, cyber security, etc. Approaching their 100th anniversary, the storied organization boasts a membership of 30,000 and sponsors a wealth of annual conferences and workshops throughout the nation.
CENTRIA's own Dean Kauthen, International Business Development Manager, was on hand to accept the award at the SAME DC Post 21st Annual Awards Luncheon in early 2017. Kauthen, along with CENTRIA’s domestic Business Development Manager - Strategic Markets Bob Waltersdorf, are individual members of SAME.
"It was an honor to accept this award on behalf of CENTRIA," Kauthen said. "This is a very collegial group, whether part of the military or private industry, we're all there for the same purpose."
SAME Sustaining Membership provides the opportunity to network with industry leaders in the public sector and representatives from the state department and any number of military engineering organizations, such as the US Army Corps of Engineers (USCOE) and Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC). CENTRIA is also a regular exhibitor at national and regional conferences sponsored by SAME.
